What is Shata?

Setu for Humanity and Akshay Aarogya Trip focuses on helping rural individuals and Agarias deal with serious health issues. Not all facilities are available in rural hospitals and at the SETU center in Kharaghoda. Certain illnesses need a special doctor and equipment for further treatment. This program focuses on dealing with such problems in the village.

Who does it support?

SHATA by SETU is the next step of the Arogya initiative. Many individuals after connecting with the doctor through Arogya are diagnosed with certain acute or chronic diseases. Such individuals are fearful or ignorant about taking further steps due to certain limitations. This initiative paves a path for them to walk towards their healing journey with the help of SETU volunteers. It supports individual from any group who is facing any kind of health issue.

How Does it work?

The following individuals are considered under this initiative

  • Individuals in need of further examination with advanced technology
  • Individuals in need of physical inspection by a special doctor
  • Individuals who need to visit an expert for their cure
  • Individuals whose further treatment is not possible in the village

Once they are identified with the disease, an appropriate doctor is selected for a visit. SETU’s network and connected members assist in finding an appropriate hospital/clinic. The individual with his/her family members is brought to Ahmedabad and goes through the needed treatment/examination. SETU also takes care of any further visits needed to fully heal the patient.
