What is Sakar?
Who does it support?
Anganwadi is the first school in which the village kids are admitted. Kids upto the age of 4-5 years are present in Anganwadi. They are already provided with basic food and growth-oriented activities for better development. To support and enhance their journey, SAKAR supports such kids through nutritious food. The beneficiaries of this project are all the kids of 5 adopted Anganwadi.
How Does it work?
The Anganwadi works six days a week, except for Sunday. Every day, the kids are provided with some nutritious snacks during the break. The snack is arranged/prepared by the SETU workers at the center and distributed amongst the kids. They make sure that the food is consumed by the kids.
Some of the food items include different types of fruits, poha, whole chana and other similar snacks. Around 140-150 kids are provided with such snacks daily. It is a crucial contribution to their nutrition during these initial years.
